When I was about 32ish.... I was dating a guy who broke my heart in a hundred pieces. I was working at a record store at the time, and one of the record companies had given me a Leonard Cohen CD. I had never heard of Cohen at the time as I was a fan of punk/rock. It was in the passenger seat of my car. I pulled over to cry with my broken heart... I opened the CD, put it in the stereo, and sat on the side of road. "I'm Your Man", came on. Listening to Leonard sing to me, in his velvety, smooth voice, about how a man should treat a woman. Instantly I felt every muscle loosen, every sad thought, disappear. Ever since then, I have been an avid fan. I drive with Leonard on many occasions. You have kept me calm in traffic, happy when having a bad day, and sexy when I'm feeling frumpy. Thank you for the music. From the bottom of my heart.
