I was raised on my mom's Family Farm. When I was 4 I was with my Dad & he tragically lost his life on his Dad's Family Farm on Nov 11 1957 in a farm machinery accident. My Mother raised me & my 3 sister's by herself. She went to work right away! A time when few women were in the workforce. We were young so my Grandparents & uncles helped my mother watching us daily until she came home from work. They were kind of like work alcoholics as I saw it, and my mom and Dad had adjoining farms. That is how they met!! As my Story goes on I had a lot of Sadness within Me, so to escape Pain I turned to Music. I was in my teen's listening to music all the time & John started to get popular!! It was John's music that brought me unending happiness. He sang about the Farm and the beauty that surrounds us & the environment that I Loved!! I Would fanaticize like I was his sister singing about the Farm and the Beauty of the outdoors. As I got older I listened to all John's music remembering it by Heart. After 1981 I went through a horrible Deppresion!! I was married, and had 2 children . Was working & working!! Then one night decided to write to JD, I think it was cherryland music I sent the letter to. I mentioned the Story I just told, & He wrote Back & said I should Join his Fan club!! And I did!! I still have the Letter. During this time I went through a biochemical depression, and I was very sick!! I felt like I was going to die! Then I prayed Dear God could I Please meet John Denver before I die, and I really meant it! So after I joined the fan club!! I got to MEET Him 3 times! An answer to a Prayer and yes this is a True Story!! Met him in the Chicago Theater, sat in front row seats and at one point he bent down to shake our hands! After the concert we went upstairs and he had lots of people there. They served all kind's of fruit & Beverages. He went around & shook hands with everybody. The highlight of my life was when he shook my hand and talked to me. I told him I was raised on a farm and how much his music meant to me personally. Then following this concert we got involved with Windstar Foundation!! We got to hand out brochures for the WIndstar Foundation at a Milwaukee concert& met him Backstage again at the Riverside Theater. And the last time I met John was at a Book Store signing In Wisconsin. That is where this Picture I have included was taken. He signed my Book!!& one person even had his guitar signed. I have pictures in a book of the day he died. Also articles about him & George Burns. Concert tickets. A letter from Windstar about a Symposium in Colorado, and more letters from Windstar. And an invitation to The Human Family symposium in Aspen, Colorado. All special mementos of John that I cherish. This wonderful man I hoped to God I would meet and did not only once, but three times!
