Dear Mr. Miyazaki - Your works lifted my boy, Max up from his wheelchair and his hospital beds since he was a young boy.
You inspired him to find beauty in the smallest of details, and the most fragile / hurting of humans. You helped him become a young man that influenced so many others toward understanding, compassion, empathy and caring.
Your works now comfort me, as my Max is no longer with us. His bodily pains were too much to endure anymore. He left us at age 21. But he really only sprouted his butterfly wings to now fly, - and he visits me and many of his friends (also artists) in our dreams. He lets us know he's okay - and I do believe that he was able to prepare through his artistry - often inspired by you - his own version of what Heaven might be like.
It's the one significant thing that keeps me going, lifts me out of my chair - to know that he's in a place that looks as beautiful as the worlds you showed my young Max. I enjoy still watching your films after all these years, pausing on so many scenes to see each frame as a masterpiece.
Thank you. Your gift is immeasurable. - Peace. - Max's Dad : Bob
