when I was very young, my father brought home an interesting movie called Spirited Away. I immediately fell in love and was enamoured with all the characters and stories, and how colorfully and beautifully they were shown. ive watched each ghibli film, and even when I rewatch them, my heart pounds and tears fall like it was the first time all over again!! these movies changed my life, they made me want to become an animator, to pursue a life of art, to learn a new language, and my biggest dream is just to even be in the same building as the man who helped make those memories of long car rides with only a small DVD player, those sad nights where I couldn't sleep and the only thing I could do was watch movies and sulk. Miyazaki's movies changed who I am as a person, and they made my life so much better and fulfilled. thank you!

My experience is very similar. My sister was the one who introduced me into these films. I began to pursue art, not really knowing what to do with it. As I got older I wanted to become an animator due to the Studio Ghibli films. I became fascinated with Japanese language and culture. The movies helped me calm down on bad days, and for awhile everything felt okay. I wanted to influence people in the same way. I have turned away from animation, but I am still studying to join the film industry behind the scenes, all thanks to the influence of these magical films.
