Before I grew the confidence to take step out of the nest of corporate comfort, I spent 6 years traveling for work every week. Weekends were whirlwinds spent in Austin without much opportunity to grow roots in a community.

Once I built up the confidence to embark on my entrepreneurial journey, I was rootless and went at it alone... For 7 months, it worked, but not well. I'll never forget reading the email that we (I used "we" a lot when it was just me... it was less lonely) were accepted into the Capital Factory Incubator at my best friend's wedding.

From there, it all changed... rapidly roots were established in the Capital Factory community like I had never experienced. It was collaborative, challenging, and motivating... and with the other founders, mentors and partners, it grew into a we/us (that wasn't just me faking it)... It was knowing that we were there to help one another succeed and do things the rest of the world says we can't.

So for me, the biggest difference Capital Factory has made for my company was changing it from me, to us... and in turn, the us has become a team of 6 at Aceable.

Great story Blake, I think you hit the nail on the head. Thanks for sharing. The Capital Factory community is a powerful and helpful factor for young companies, and sets Capital Factory apart from other accelerators.
