I have been a fan since I was 11, didn't understand a word of what he was singing as I spoke no English. 46 years later he is one of the most important people in my life.
I had tickets for the concert in Antwerp, the 4th of July 2009. A few weeks before the concert I had an accident and I had a double pelvis fracture. Friends and family organised an ambulance so I could go to his concert for the first time in my life. I went to the concerts in 2010, 2012 and had tickets for 2013 but I needed heart surgery in April. I postponed my operation because of the concerts in Antwerp and Brussels even after the surgeon told me I could die every moment. I was still recovering from my heart surgery when my husband and I went to his concert in Amsterdam. After the show we've met him, it was his Birthday, we sang a birthday song for him, a wonderful moment. I never thought to meet him in person, it was the happiest day of my life. Danny
